dal Primo is so proud to announce another Grand Champion! Fabio owned by Bill and Sandy Whitely achieved his final championship points on Sunday at the Rose City Classic, handled to perfection by his human grand dad Roy Lawton, breeder of Fabio's dam Ruby. Most of Fabio's GCH points were attained under the capable hands of his owner Bill, but due to injury, Roy stepped up to the plate last weekend and showed young Fabio to this new AKC award! Way to go guys! Keep up the great work!

Matt, Blaine and Morgan arrived at dal Primo on Wednesday Jan 19th! We are so happy to have them for a visit. Morgan and Blaine had a blast playing with their family all week!
Morgan is now 13 weeks and weighs 30lbs. Blaine is now 8.5 months old and weighs 105 lbs and stands at a solid 25 inches at the withers.
Please enjoy these photos and videos that were taken during their visit!
Then on Saturday we had a visit from Jeff and Amy with Blaine's littermates Chase and Heidi from the 2010 dal Primo/Pureheart breeding of Primo and Brandy, born on May 6th, 2010.
Blaine is dal Primo Magic Moment, Chase is Pureheart Chasin' the Dream and Heidi is Pureheart Heidi You're a Fine Girl (all 8.5 months old)...and Wyatt is CH Cornerstone's Wyatt's Revenge (1.5 years old)
The dogs had a blast playing together, they were joined by Jeff's big boy Wyatt. It was a real testament to their temperments to see these three boys play together with three bitches in season inside the house! We were so glad to have them back for the day, enjoy the videos and photos were were able to get while they ripped around the yard!
Here is a video montage of every puppy born at dal Primo from February 2008 through May of 2010. Some beautiful "then and now" photos of these wonderful dogs and their loving families. We hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed each and every one of these pups.
Here are some new pics of the Fabulous Mr. Fabio otherwise known as BISS Am/Can/Intl CH dalPrimo's in it to Win with TruGrit (bred by dal Primo and Kathi Moyer)
Fabio will be three years old in February and is the son of our Primo and Ruby. We are SO proud of Fabio and his owners. We thank Bill and Sandy for taking the time to take these photos in the scenic wine country of California
We think Fabio is lookin' fine and we are proud to show him off!
We are so proud to prove that some old dogs still have their "tricks", at nearly age six Primo is still able and willing to breed naturally! Here are some photos showing the very exciting breeding of Primo to his grand daughter Piper on January 5th 2011. Puppies are expected around the first of March and we could not be more excited to have gotten this natural breeding greatly increasing our chances of getting a nice sized litter, the next dal Primo generation of Bullmastiffs.
a few minutes after the tie, we have allowed the dogs to position themselves and a box is used (slid under the ribcage) to relieve stress on Piper and to help her contract her muscles to help the sperm travel up to her uterus
a closer view of the "tie"
still in the tie, about 30 minutes in to the total time of 35 min
approx 32 minutes in to the tie
still holding on....
and the tie breaks just shy of 35 minutes...
Primo checks Piper after the tie is completed, you can see his penis is still engorged
and then Primo checks himself, the penis has now retracted
and all is said and done and Piper is pretty proud of herself :)
2010 was a monumental year for dal Primo Bullmastiffs
First, PRIMO, the #1 Bullmastiff in the Nation from the year 2009, returned to the ring for two weekends (Perry and Kalamazoo) in 2010 Picking up FIVE Best of Breeds and a Group 3 in Kalamazoo. One of those Breed wins included a BEST IN SPECIALTY under Judge Judi Harrington in Perry GA, held by the Sunshine States Bullmastiff Club. Although he missed showing at a potentially wonderful weekend in Jefferson WI due to injury, we are SO proud to announce PRIMO is the #9 Bullmastiff (breed rankings) with FIVE breed wins and 195 Bullmastiffs defeated! Primo was shown to all of these awards by Katie Martin.
In addition Primo was also the #1 ranked Bullmastiff in the American Bullmastiff Association's Top 20 Rankings.
Primo helped dal Primo win the MATURITY Trophy at the 2010 National Specialty, alongside his daughter Fame who was also a Judges AOM at the National, and his grandson Spanky. Primo was awarded second place in a very large stud dog class, behind the famous Liam under judge Billy Brittle (UK).
To finish out the year, Primo was awarded a plaque stating not only his conformation awards, but his Dual Title award (conformation and working), and was recognized as being a Top Producing Sire.
We hope to have many more years with this incredible dog, watch for Primo in the veterans ring in 2011!

Shown only a handful of weekends, General picked up 8 breed wins defeating 137 dogs, ranking him #16 for 2010. General was handled in the USA by Katie Martin. General was shown in the USA from January 2010 through March 2010 when he returned to Canada.

Next in line is Mr. Fabulous, aka FABIO another fantastic Primo son out of our Ruby. At just 2 years old Fabio became a BEST IN SPECIALTY winner and a group placer. By two and a half years Fabio became dal Primo's FIRST International Champion AND Canadian Champion. In October Fabio received the only Judges Award of Merit at the Canadian National Specialty. To end the year Fabio took home one of the four Judges Award of Excellence at the 2010 Eukanuba National Specialty handled by our friend Katie Martin. There is a bright future ahead for this dal Primo dog, and we wish him and his owners much success in 2011.
Fabio finished the year the #18 dog with 12 breed wins and 124 dogs defeated!
Fabio is AM/CAN/Intl CH dalPrimo in it to Win with TruGrit Owned by: Bill and Sandy Whitley Bred By: Crystal Corner (dal Primo) and Kathleen Moyer
Last but certainly not least, the youngest of the four boys is NACHO an exciting young dog from Connecticut. Nacho is a multiple Award of Merit winner, and most recently the first dog to receive a Judges Award of Excellence at the 2010 Eukanuba under Judge Glyn Payne (UK). We had the pleasure of having Nacho at dal Primo from July through Sept, where he was expertly handled by our own Katie Martin, where they ran nearly undefeated in the breed, defeating close to 200 Bullmastiffs in six short weekends with 13 straight Best of Breeds and finished their time together with a National Specialty Award of Merit under Judge Billy Brittle (UK). In total Nacho defeated 317 Bullmastiffs in 2010, finishing the year the number FOUR Bullmastiff, earning himself a 2011 Westminster Invitation! Nacho was handled by Kent MacFarlane, Katie Martin, Heather Bremmer and Kevin Bednar to many exciting wins in 2010 from the east coast to the midwest including becoming dal Primo's First GRAND Champion! We expect to see and hear many great things in Nacho's promising future! Best of Luck in 2011 Nacho!

Tony's mother Fame, Ch dal Primo's Remember My Name, is also a National Specialty AOM (2010).
Tony is no slouch in the ring, picking up his first two points at just six months old under judges Dana Cline and Frannie Schwartz in Danville, IL. A few short weeks after that Tony was BEST PUPPY at the 2010 NATIONAL SPECIALY under esteemed breeder judge Billy Brittle of England (Oldwell Kennels).
This is what Mr. Brittle had to say about our Tony! "I always enjoy the puppies, and it was very satisfying to find one of such quality and type, clean lines moderate angulation, good depth and substance, and a lovely head. This pup has all the ingredients to become a stunning and impressive Bullmastiff. Moved incredibly well for one so young and handled to perfection." - Billy Brittle Modern, Molosser Magazine Novemeber 2010 - "Judgement Day"

Adella has taken a break from the ring while we were showing Piper in BBE, now that Piper will be taking a break, Adella will return to the ring likely in Indianapolis in mid February. We are very excited to see what the future holds for Adella, she is as sweet as they come, just like her wonderful mother Fame.

Blaine's third and last show of 2010 was Cleveland OH, where Blaine took RWD to a 3pt major and Best Puppy in Breed under judge Clay Coady and RWD to a 4pt major under Judge Judi Goodin. "INDY"
Indy would like to know why the boys get to have all the fun?! In a very generous offer to Crystal by Indy's loving owners Ted and Nancy Brassard, we are excited to be able to include Indy in the dal Primo breeding program. Indy was initially sold as a companion to the Brassards but as she grew her incredible substance, bone, leg, angulation and perfect mouth became evident and her quality could not be denied. Indy is Blaine's littermate sister from the Primo X Brandy litter and resides in the beautiful New England state of MA. Indy is aptly named "dal Primo's Star Spangled Indy" as she went home on the 4th of July.
Indy will spend the year maturing and will come to dal Primo for some showing hopefully in the fall of 2011, possibly for some National Specialty fun.

SALEM is dal Primo's Wicked Ways, a promising red male owned by Katie and Crystal, residing at Katie's with his nephew Tony, and friends Regan and Sloan. We have high hopes for Salem, and feel he is an important part of our future at dal Primo, being out of Ruby's last litter and a Primo great grandson.

MORGAN is a cute as a button fawn girl who is owned by Matt Harwood and Crystal, Morgan will reside between Durham CT with Matt and Indianapolis IN with dal Primo. Morgan's zest for life and super silly temperment sealed her fate as our keeper from this litter. The naming of Morgan was very important to us, and we wanted a name to serve as a tribute to her mother "Ruby"...after searching the internet we fell in love with the history and lore of the gemstone "Morganite"
The color of morganite always emanates charm, esprit and a touch of tenderness. This gemstone has a wonderful gift: even in stressful times, it shows up the brighter aspects of life. Try it out yourself and you'll see: the sight of a morganite will put you in a good mood. A person who chooses this gemstone opts for 'la vie en rose' even in the greyness of everyday life. So it's easy to see why morganite is typically used in gemstone therapy for stress-related problems, radiating as it does a pleasant feeling of relaxation, calm and joie de vivre.
Morganite is an activator, cleanser and stimulator for the heart Chakra. It helps bring love into ones life and assists one in maintaining that love as it continues to grow. It further helps one to realize equality in relationships, between genders.
Playing on "la vie en rose" a love for life and the idea of seeing life through rose colored glasses, we came upon a perfect name for Morgan, "dal Primo's Life in Shades of Pink"..
Morgan 7 weeks
TANZI is owned by Bea Travis and was her stud pick puppy for her generously allowing us to use her boy "Spanky" who was bred by dal Primo out of our lovely Tune and her handsome Tsumo (April 2009).
Tanzi, short for Tanzanite is a stunning puppy loaded in breed type we hope will bring the incredible breed type of Tsumo and Auggie back to Beahive. We are thrilled to have another pup in the capable and loving hands of Bea Travis at her home in Springfield IN.
